Marriage is one of the greatest topical issues in the Ghanaian society and in some parts of the world, a woman’s or man’s successes in life are not fully achieved when he or she is not customarily or legally married.
Society places a high value on marriage thus it is required for a woman or man of age to settle down at some point in life.
One of Ghana’s most talked about spinster Nana Aba Anamoah has opened up on her philosophies about the concept of marriage and laid to the fore her plans of settling down.
The celebrated award-winning television presenter and news anchor in an interview on Accra FM raged with her comments when asked by the host about her singleness.
Nana Aba Anamoah, a mother of one has on several occasions responded to questions about her date of wedding but consistently on her part declined to give a date for unknown reasons.
The screen personality event MC mentioned that she not anyway worried that she is not married because in as much as marriage is a beautiful thing it should not be the only standard for humanity.
She intimated that it is not right for anybody to disturb anybody with marriage and at the same time rule out marriage in their lives.
According to Nana Aba, she is not perturbed when she sees her age mates marry because they all have different destinies reiterating that life is not a competition.
However, Nana Aban Anamoah who heads the News Department at GHOne Television hinted that she will marry when she thinks she is ready.
Her recent comments give a final response to questions on her personal life in relation to marriage.
“Why will I be worried that I’m not married?… Are you worried that you’re not dead? Exactly;
No one can be forced to get married, I don’t think there’s anyone in this world who says that I hate marriage or when I marry everything is over, I will abandon my work; If it happens, it happens, if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.
You don’t go around chasing shadows, I don’t think it is right for anyone to disturb anybody with marriage, also I don’t think it right for anybody to rule out marriage because there are great people out there who will make great companions.
So you get married and your life comes to an end? There are people who are married and they are very happy, they are others who are sad, their lives have become worse and we want them out of those marriages so am not ruling out marriage;
I will marry when I’m ready’ she stated.
