In an exclusive interview by Becca on Hitz FM Friday, 5th July 2019, to promote her new song ‘Driving License’ pundits on the show shared their thoughts on the musical piece.
The song ‘Driving License’ which featured self–acclaimed dancehall king in Africa Shatta Wale by the award-winning highlife singer founder and president of the Songwriter’s Association of Ghana shared his opinion on the song.
Joining the listening session were industry stalwarts like David Bolton of DKB Studios, Rash, Media Excel Productions CEO Akwasi Ernest, Nana Poku Ashis, talent manager and Mr. Logic CEO of Greater David Hallmark.
All pundits made applausive reviews on Becca’s song urging her to keep on the good work.
Mr. Logic making his submission on the song, eulogized his experience with the celebrated singer at the time he was working with her on a song for his artiste Vybrant Faya.
She lauded Becca for his level of professionalism she attaches to her craft.
‘When I heard Becca has a new song with Shatta, seriously I quickly run to listen to the song because I wanted to know what is in the song because you know I believe in good content, then I heard Becca rapping in fact I had to listen to the song line by line see if she is making sense and she is not a rapper but I felt Becca made a lot of sense.’ He stated.
Legally named Emmanuel Barnes, Mr Logic indicated that although Becca and Shatta Wale’s verse on the song was tremendous he believed that judging from his ears, Shatta Wale’s part was noisy.
Explaining the reason for his comment on Shatta Wale’s part, the former manager of the late Vybrant Faya said that because Shatta Wale’s add lips on his lead vocals, he could hardly hear crisply what he was saying.
“My problem is Shatta’s part. It was noisy; David is here he can bare me witness. He was doing a lot of add-lips, Becca’s part was clear and for me I’m not comfortable because it took away the flavor of the song” Mr Logic added.
Mr. Logic, however maintained that ‘Driving License’ is a banger because the concept of the song is topical with her Becca’s unique lyrics and the great delivery by Shatta Wale.
Responding to this assertion by Mr Logic, the mother of one attributed the issue to a case of poor mixing and mastering during the technical production of the song.
